institutional linkages for R&D in the field of bio-diesel
with Delhi College of Engineering
(DCE) and other R&D Institutes.

PCRA's initiative; DCE has developed simple technology &
equipment for esterification of |
| bio-diesel
on small and medium scale. |
| This
technical know-how is being spread to small farmers & Self
Help Groups (SHGs). SHGs from Orissa have already been trained
at DCE. |
| One
R&D project on "Production of Biogas from non edible
seeds as alternative to |
| LPG/Kerosene"
has been sponsored on Shivsadan Renewable Energy Research Institute,
Sangli. |
Bio-diesel
and Jatropha Curcas have been widely covered in our in-house
magazines i.e. monthly 'Sanrakshan Chetna'(in Hindi & other
regional languages) and Quarterly Technical Journal in English
- "Active Conservation Technique
(ACT)" ; both carry editorial by ED PCRA.

has been co-sponsoring and participating in Seminars on Bio-diesel. |
| Holding
Kisan Melas, Exhibitions, workshops, seminars / technical meets,
Driver Training Programmes, Emission Awareness programmes etc.
These fora are being used for spreading awareness among masses
on bio fuels through the extensive usage of print and multi
media. |
| Initiated
Project for Development of petrol-alcohol-water micro-emulsion
fuel as a substitute for petrol and ethanol-blended petrol.
It has been sponsored on IIT, Delhi |
| PCRA's
methodology has been the mass awareness campaigns for switching
over to renewable sources of energy. It also focuses on conservation
and it provides information to decision-makers, economic agents,
networking organisations and consumers thus enabling them to
take appropriate decisions. |
