Who is doing what
National Botanical Research Institute
NBRI is involved in various activities related to Cultivation of biodiesel "Crops" such as Jatropha Curcas, investigating alternatives to jatropha curcas such as pongamia perinata etc. t is also involved in developing agro-techniques for cultivation, selection of elite material, model plantation, nursery technology to enhance efficiency and reduce costs, converting bio-oil to alternatives to diesel, increasing shelf life of bio oils, utilization of cake, setting standards for bio-oils, bio diesel and related activities including consultancy to industry and public sector organizations.

NBRI are planting jatropha curcas on fly ash sites, mine soiled sites, degraded as highly alkaline etc.

NBRI has facilitated planting of 300,000 plants of jatropha curcas at state farm corporation under NOVOD-DBT-SFC program. Another 100 acres have been covered under Model plantation with select Material.
