Who is doing what
TOCL, JV of ADM and Tinna is one of the leading manufacturers of edible oil in the country with a 1000 ton per day crush plant at Latur, Maharastra and a 1000 ton per day crush plant in Dharwad, Karnataka. Total revenues of the group are over Rs.500 crore.
With the technical back up of ADM and TOCL's understanding of the different aspects required for bio-diesel business. TOCL is setting up a 50 tpd state-of-art "Continuous Process" Bio-Diesel plant at then existing Latur premises.
TOCL is having following strengths required for undertaking Bio-Diesel business in India:
1. R&D and Technology for making Bio-Diesel
Available form JV partner DM the leader in Bio-Diesel Production. ADM is the largest producer of Bi-Diesel in Europe.
2. Understanding of various parameters critical to Bio-Diesel performance
ADM has superior technology for producing Bio-Diesel. ADM's Connediesel ® brand is a high quality Bio-Diesel meeting the requirements of EN 14214. The basis of this outstanding Bio-Diesel is the CD-Process which was developed by ADM and is a reflection of ADM's long-term experience in the production and marketing of Bio-Diesel.
3. Oil seed Processing capabilities
TOCL with its two plants situated in Latur (Mahrastra) and Dharwad (Karnatka) is the largest crusher of Sunflower and Safflower seeds in India, and among top 5 crushers of Soy Beans in India. It is the largest Crusher in both the states that we operate in.
4. Understanding of Indian Farmer's psyche
TOCL has an ongoing Crop Extension Program wherein we have set up more than 25 krishi Vikas Kendras (KVK) for framers help. These KVK's are the contact point for interaction with farmers; wherein TOCL provides them with various pre-harvest and post-harvest solutions/services and dedicated telephone helplines for farmers.
Pre-Harvest Services:
· Agri inputs such as soil testing, hybrid seeds, pesticides, fertilizers etc.
· Information regarding best farming practices by qualified agronomists.
Post-Harvest Services:
· Gunny Bags, Storage Services, Transportation
· Procurement at the best support prices
4. Ability to work with farmers to increase Non Edible oil seeds cultivation
Based on our experience in working closely with the farmer community, TOCL is guiding the farmers to plant non-edible seeds in their barren & wastelands not suitable for growing any other crop.
